Join Jessica Carter, Compassion Over Killing’s Vegan Food and Lifestyle Coach, for a simple and delicious cooking demo. In her role she shares a variety resources to live a balanced vegan life through recipes, helpful tips, and product reviews, all available at TryVeg.com. She’ll be sharing how to enjoy the flavors and textures of seafood without any of the cruelty to sea creatures in her cooking demo of Jackfruit Croquette Sliders aka Vegan Crab Cakes.

Jessica Carter is the Vegan Food and Lifestyle Coach at Compassion Over Killing (COK), a national non-profit animal protection organization based in Washington, DC. Committed to making plant-based eating more accessible for all, she organizes and hosts cooking demos, develops online trainings and multimedia content for TryVeg.com, and coordinates collaborations with vegan influencers. Her recipes have been featured on FOX45 Baltimore, Let’s Talk Live, and Good Morning Washington.

In 2011, Jessica began transitioning to a vegetarian diet to improve her health. In 2016 she adopted a vegan lifestyle to be kinder to the planet and contribute to creating a more compassionate world for animals. In 2009, Jessica received her undergraduate degree in African American Studies from Ohio University where she researched the persisting links between race, class, and inequality. She will complete the Plant Based Certificate Program through eCornell in February 2019. Jessica is committed to equipping people with the information and tools that they need to positively impact their quality of life by embracing a plant-powered lifestyle.
