Features: Society of P.E.A.C.E. will be hosting our annual MEATOUT events & outreach for the Houston area again this year. We are producing and hosting a radio segment for Go Vegan Texas on KPFT Houston 90.1 FM about MEATOUT, HSUS & the meat recall to air on Monday, March 10. We will be providing vegan food and teaming up with Food Not Bombs to feed Houston's hungry on Friday, March 21 (Good Friday). Plans are still being finalized on our video screening/lecture the week of March 25-28 and literature will be distributed throughout Houston. These lead up to our Houston "MEATOUT Picnic in the Park", scheduled for Saturday, March 29 with free "veggie dogs", door prizes and literature tables. More updates will be announced soon and on our website at www.societyofpeace.org. (For those North of Houston, please support the events by our friends with SHSU VEG for P.E.A.C.E.!)

We are still finalizing plans, but hope to have a festival/picnic/feed-in, along with local outreach events, a guest speaker and a video screening. Features: This event is being organized by The Association for Vegan and Vegetarian Awareness (AVA) from The University of Texas - Pan American) and Cochehua (a Rio Grande Valley Vegetarian Collective).
Our event schedule is not finalized, as we're still signing people up for workshops, etc. But we will be featuring AVAs vegan/vegetarian cookzine, titled RGVeggie, workshops featuring recipes from this cookzine, and workshops on shortcuts to cruelty-free meals/ info tables from supporting organizations. We're hoping to secure a speaker who will discuss environmental benefits to cruelty-free living from our universities Environmental Awareness Club.
